Cole is in his first season with the HDI team. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno, for his first two years of undergrad before finishing at Creighton University in 2017, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism. At Creighton, Cole was voted team captain of the men’s basketball program during his senior year. He earned All-Big East Conference Academic Team honors while being recognized by the university as Student Journalist of the Year.
Following his time as a student-athlete, Cole went on to enjoy a four-year professional basketball career, which included seasons in Spain, Turkey, Greece, and the NBA G League, before retiring in 2020 and shifting his focus back to journalism. Now, with several years under his belt covering high-level basketball as a writer, including a stop at The Athletic, Cole is excited to combine his knowledge of the game and professional experiences to provide a unique approach to analyzing basketball.
